The story of a LoveStory

Prato is my hometown. Here I lived my childhood and my youth. I had a strange relationship with this city, I often fought against the rush to get away from here and my thoughts lived tightly between these streets and in a provincial reality full of contradictions that I never bothered to fully understand. Prato means fabrics, many pieces of cloth have always been there in this city and when we were children we played among the noise of looms that still our grandparents held in the domestic warehouses. I then left Prato years ago, I was disappointed and I was angry, maybe like many other young women of my age. But in Prato I came back years later to see the city in a different way, under a different lens. This time my heart was opened and I had hopes. I decided for the this first time to give a chance to this place and see together what we could do.So when I was presented with the opportunity to photograph this story happening in my city, I saw the opportunity to tell a small story of people who were born and raised here just like me, I felt the responsibility that I had was also to return to this place a bit of that affection I had taken from it. Then one day I got an idea and I called Gaia, it was kind of a crazy idea and I did not know how they would react. I asked her “Gaia why don’t we meet each other as much as we can for one year long instead of photographing only the wedding day and let’s see where this story will bring us? Who knows what will come out”. We did not know what the result would have been and if nothing good would have come out of it. But Gaia and Alessio were enthusiastic and they said yes to this idea a little freaked out.And so we did. Until the wedding, that happened on an unusual warm evening at the end of November. I asked or I should properly say that firmly required to stay until the very end, until the last guest left, until the waiters had put everything away. Until goodnight.Until the last photo in which I could completely understand the importance of how to create a memory. And I hope that somewhere a little gentleman with a hat and a slow pace will look at us and smile at these memories.  For this story of a LoveStory.

The old courtyard
Imagine an old courtyard, a place lost in time where once you could see the animals that spent their day in the sun, and the farmers got up at dawn to work the fields. Back in those days there was always a big party on saturdays and everyone came from nearby fields to have a glass of wine and eat together and forget the toil of work while waiting for the day of rest. This is the atmosphere that I felt while I took these photographs and I was reminded of the stories of the elderly I heard as a child. A dive in a past that is not so distant.   Published on Grace Loves Lace     Olive in Love wedding planner Villa Po ...

Feeling like Scarlett under the tuscan rustic country rain
Country shooting. Imagine a day filled with dark clouds, the rain which seems to stop but in the end decides to keep you company. A small lace parasol and flounces of white organza of a beautiful Vera Wang wedding dress. Her smile that lights up this day and opens our hearts. Beautiful Christine it was so lovely to look at her and reminded me in a way of Scarlett in Gone with the wind when she goes to the pic nic in the countryside surrounded by the eyes of her admirers while her heart only beats for her love. And Chris was so much excited that he did not want to show it. I believe the laughter of all their friends were heard throu ...

Romance in the rain
It rained so much that day. It's a day of summer and the rain can be scary sometimes. Today it doesn't want to stop, the hills are surrounded by a thin whitish mist and the wind brings down drops so thick that they it's impossible to see few meters away. It rains too much, if it does not stop we could not even leave the door. They are a few meters to walk but the rain is really too strong. Luckily we still have some time to prepare ourselves, we still have the time to hope for the rain to stop. We smile, we are accustomed to these storms, usually do not last, the sun will come out and everything will run smoothly. We say it but we have no ...
